taoism: my thoughts

I was very interested when studying the "Tao-te Ching" and what taoists believe. I thought it was interesting that they believe in the whole concept of "karma" and reincarnation. Its very different than other religions in the world. It is one of the oldest and one of the most unique. The fact they belief in a supreme truth or Te is mindboggling seeing as though truth did not make us or is responsible for creation. Also the dact that they do not believe in any sort of death is curious as well' that nothing ever really dies' just takes on a new life. This was a very interesting subject to discuss and talk about in class. I enjoyed learning about this religion.

Qu'ran

While studying the Qu'ran i learned that we as westerners/christian and the muslims have much more in common than i thought. The way we view our religion was the similar and we have similar principles in religion. Although we are different our similarities made it able for me to relate to some of the things that was talked about in the Qu'ran. The book was somewhat difficult to read although it had some principles in life. Some were controversial and some were justifiable. By reading this book i have gained a different view on the muslim society and i now see where they stand. I better know them as people with a religion not just viewing them as a religion.

Camelot

I thought that Camelot was an excellent movie to watch as we are transitioning into the Medieval Age. The musical was very well played and showed the hope for a non-violent loving civilization. I appreciated watching the movie front till end. The christian perspective of camelot can be seen between the love relationship between the characters. The movie was an excellent material for education of the art that occurede during this time.
